Tottenham, Haringey, London 

The 2011 England riots saw thousands of people rioting in London and other English cities. Shops were looted and several buildings fell victim to arson attacks. The existing buildings on this site in Tottenham had burnt out completely. The irreparable damage to the existing structures provided an unexpected opportunity to review the development potential of the site.  
 
The ground floor was retained as retail space. The footprint of the building was extended and the site use optimised. On the upper floors 16no residential flats were created, set over three floors and arranged in an L-shape building volume, overlooking a green roof above the retail space. The design brief required unique design for the facade features. Bespoke concrete panels with cloud motives were developed with the involvement of artists, as homage to Luke Howard, the namer of clouds, who lived in a nearby building.
